Almu & Javi’ s Weding at The Hoyuelos Palace in Segovia, Spain
When Almu and Javi asked me to be their Spanish wedding photographer, I was so excited! I would be able to capture this occasion near to where I grew up, bringing back my most treasured memories. Almu & Javi’s wedding was in Hoyuelos, a small town, 39km from Segovia, Spain. I flew the day before the wedding, to could get an insight into the ceremony preparations. With a town population of around 30 people, I saw half the town when we went to the local bar!
On the day, there was a mixture of excitement and nerves from the bride and groom, and the palace owners made a great effort to set up the dinner tables and the whole venue. I decided to use a documentary style for the wedding so that I could capture the creative, natural moments that made this day unique. It was emotional to see Encarna, the mum of the bride, using her DIY wedding decorations like hand made table decorations and wedding flowers. Encarna created a romantic atmosphere for the wedding, which was full of laughing, dancing, and eating great food – this also brought great memories backfrom my childhood! The amazing weather did not disappoint us. My favourite part of the wedding was seeing those intimate moments between mother and daughter. To see how Encarna helped her daughter to put the dress, belt and shoes on was beautiful and priceless. It was an honour to capture their love on camera.
Congratulations! Thank you so much for trusting Ale Armijos Photography!
